Venus of Cicatrix (Venus of the Well-Healed Scar) Totem Necklace, Made to Order
Now you can commission a Venus of your own that reflects your personal hard-fought battle scars:
Made one at a time per order, these Venus necklaces are intended to commemorate the wearer’s personal fierceness in the face of adversity. Whether your scars are from mastectomy, another physical injury or surgery, or the very real emotional scars of your personal battles, they can be reflected as a part of your journey in a custom design made just for you. (You can read my story here.)
Upon request, the scar pattern can be customized as closely as possible (given the limitations of the materials and scale) to reflect the warrior’s own scar pattern. Mastectomy venuses can be made to reflect unilateral mastectomies or reconstruction. Masculine “Mars” versions, non-binary, and body-type variations may be approximated. Other surgical scars or emotional scars can be approximated or symbolized, also. Client will be contacted via email after ordering for consultation on scar description and any other customization types. Questions prior to ordering may be directed here.
*Note: Upon finalizing approval of custom design per consultation, payment will be final. If order is cancelled prior to finalization of custom design, up to a 50% design fee will be retained. Exceptions are at the sole discretion of artist, Heidi Kingman.
Venus -
Materials:
Silver/Gold Venus: Argentium sterling silver Venus with 18K yellow gold inlay and 18k yellow gold bail with twisted argentium sterling silver connecting ring.
Silver Venus: Argentium sterling silver Venus with silver scar lines, with silver bail and connecting ring.
Dimensions: Venus is approximately 7/8” (22mm) tall x 7/16” (12mm) wide x 3/8” (4mm) thick; plus an additional 7/16” (12mm) for bail and connecting ring
A commemorative tag may also be selected. These tags can feature surgical dates, client’s initials, a short affirmation/word, etc. depending on space available on the face of the tag. The maximum limit is about 9 characters per line and no more than 4 lines.

Please carefully select your preferred material options for an added tag and chain from the drop down menu. Tag dimensions are: approximately 1/2” (14mm) wide x 1” (26mm) long x 1/8” (1.5mm) thick. Price on listing will adjust per your selections.
