The concept of “flatlay” seems simple enough, but I struggle with this! There is an art to flatlay arrangements. Perhaps with practice I would get better. But at this point I could make 50 arrangements and still find something that doesn’t look “right” to me. Primarily I think my tendency is to put too much in so that it starts to look more like an “I Spy” book. The best flatlay seem to look like relaxed natural collections. They have a flow. I’m not there yet. Even here as I am about to post this, I see that the ribbon’s upward trajectory in the lower right corner throws off the visual square for the rest of the items form as a frame on the other sides. It wasn’t even a conscious choice. Lol. Like the rest of me, my flatlay skills are a work in progress!
